Effective Skin Rejuvenation

With so many options out there today for skin rejuvenation how do we know which ones to pick? Which selection will really help to maintain that ever-coveted youthful glow? There seems to be a new product out on the market every month that claims to erase wrinkles, lift the chin and fade away stubborn scars like no product has ever done before, but consumers must be wary of schemes that promise instant results.

Society today is obsessed with younger looking skin. A fortune has been spent in doctor offices getting treatments like laser rejuvenation to reverse the signs of aging. Even celebrities are constantly searching for the newest and greatest skin brightening system (http://www.PhotoFacialMachines.com) to keep their skin looking and feeling beautiful.

Benzyol Peroxide, which is one of the most well known treatments of acne, has been found to contribute to premature skin aging. Though benzyol peroxide is usually more effective than antibiotics for acne bacteria, it can cause skin dryness, sensitivity and irritation which all can contribute to accelerating the aging and wearing process on the skin. If smaller dosages of benzyol peroxide can be used, it may help to preserve the protein fibers of the skin.

Elastin is a protein fiber in the connective tissue of the skin that allows the skin to resume its shape after being stretched or contracted. It gives young skin its smooth and firm appearance. The skin loses the abundance of this protein fiber over time as the body ages. Men and women tend to start losing elastin around age 25.

Both of these fibers can be found in facial skin rejuvenation products in an attempt to reverse the signs of aging and return skin to its original youthful splendor. It is wise to start with creams and low-dosage treatments to see how your skin reacts to new agents. Visiting a skin rejuvenation center or spa is a good way to learn about the different skin rejuvenation options available today including facials, acne facials, microdermabrasion, skin peels, botox and Skin Rejuvenation.

Photo Rejuvenation or IPL Fotofacial Can Renew Your Skin's Appearance

Over time, our skin begins to display the effects of aging. Outside factors like sun, gravity and hormones can actually speed up the aging process and its visible effects on our skin. The collagen found in our skin begins to break down and results in fine lines around the eyes and lips, deeper lines and grooves in the brow, and much more. One day, we may wake up to find that our face no longer has that youthful, vibrant appearance we once had. Various procedures can help treat skin conditions and restore youthful appearances to our faces. Photo rejuvenation treatments, using cutting-edge advancements in technology, can treat our skin in safe, easy, gentler and effective manner.

Photo rejuvenation, a minimally-invasive procedure, only treats the needed areas while leaving the surrounding tissues intact. This provides the patient with smoother, healthier, younger-looking skin. While typically performed on the face, photo rejuvenation can also treat the neck, chest and hands.

Who would an Ideal Candidate for Photo Rejuvenation?

Those people looking to enhance the appearance of their face would represent an ideal candidate for photo rejuvenation treatments. Although skin conditions vary from person to person, the more common include conditions that can be helped with photo rejuvenation treatments include red, flushed faces, skin that has been damaged by the sun, hyperpigmentation (skin that has been darkened due to increased melanin), and enlarged pores.

Benefits of Photo Rejuvenation

Photo rejuvenation offers many advantages and benefits. Such a procedure has no recovery time and can help achieve healthier and smoother looking skin. It can also reduce pore size, provide a more even skin tone, reduce redness and flushing, and reduce the size and appearance of wrinkles. A photo rejuventation can help provide a more youthful look, which can enhance appearance and boost self-confidence.

How Not To Look Old

t's a question surely as old as vanity itself: how can you look young forever? A forthcoming study in the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery offers one surprising idea: as you age, don't be afraid to put on a few pounds. Fat, it turns out, can significantly smooth out wrinkles and give you a younger-looking face.

The authors of the new study, a team led by Dr. Bahman Guyuron of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, are plastic surgeons who study faces for a living. They analyzed photographs of the faces of 186 pairs of identical twins taken at the Twins Days Festival, a sort of twins' pride event held every summer in (naturally) Twinsburg, Ohio. Because the pairs had identical genetic material, differences in how old they looked could be attributed entirely to their behavioral choices and environment. Guyuron's team had the twins fill out extensive questionnaires about their lives - everything from how many times they had married to whether they had regularly used sunscreen. Then a panel of four judges independently estimated the twins' ages by looking at photos taken in Twinsburg.

The Guyuron team's most interesting findings had to do with weight. Many of the twin pairs were of similar weight, but differences in how old they looked began to appear when one had a body mass index (BMI) at least four points higher than her sister. For twin pairs under 40, the heavier one looked significantly older. But surprisingly, after 40, that same four-point difference in BMI made the heavier twin look significantly younger.

The study's authors theorize that "volume replacement" - that is, fat filling in wrinkles - accounts for the rejuvenated appearance of the older twins. This theory was supported even more dramatically among twins older than 55. For them, having as much as an eight-point higher BMI than their twin was associated with a younger appearance in the face.

Guyuron doesn't recommend that people gain weight just to look younger, and one limitation of his study is that the Twinsburg photos included only faces. If they had showed the whole body, the judges may have knocked a couple of years from the age estimates of those who had kept a youthful figure - and added a couple of years for those who were well-fed in the middle.

The paper also makes clear that, weight aside, healthy living is crucial for keeping a youthful face. The siblings who smoked and didn't wear sunscreen looked significantly older than those who avoided cigarettes and tanning. Those twins who had been divorced also looked older (by about 1.7 years) than the twins who didn't divorce. (They also looked older than those who had stayed single, which reinforces a point I made in this article: you are better off staying single than getting into a bad relationship.)

Finally, and this was the cruelest finding: those who had taken antidepressants also looked older than their twins who hadn't. In other words, if the misery of your divorce doesn't age you, your attempt to treat it with Prozac might. Guyuron and his colleagues believe this unjust fact has something to do with the drooping relaxation of facial muscles that antidepressants can cause.

The bottom line is that if you care mostly about a young-looking face, don't smoke, don't go into the sun without protection, and try not to get into a bad relationship that will make you depressed. Instead, this summer at the beach, stay inside and have an ice cream. Make it a double scoop.

1. It is a must to wash your face. But do not do this too often, especially if you do not have a water purifier installed in your house that your only source for this act is the water coming straight from the tap. It actually contains chlorine that can add to the risks of developing wrinkles fast. If this is the case, wash your face once a day. This way, you will be able to retain a good amount of moisture and oil on your skin.

2. In washing you face, use mild soap. Choose the brands that have moisturizers as part of the ingredients. Do not use soaps and even deodorants with alkaline. If it cannot be helped, just avoid it.

3. Choose a brand of moisturizer that is water based. After washing your face, use a clean and soft towel to pat your skin dry then add the moisturizer.

4. The sun also contributes a lot in developing lines on your face. What you must do to counter this is to apply sunscreen when you are going out. This should be applied even you are only going to be exposed to the sun's rays for a short period of time.

5. The sleeping position can also contribute to slow down the process of developing the unwanted lines. You can try lying on your back when you are sleeping. But only do this if it will be comfortable for you. The effect of this act is that it will offset the gravity's effects.

6. Avoid smoking. You are young and you may want to try it all. But this vice is really not going to do anything good to your skin. Plus, your health will also suffer through time. When are you going to quit? When people mistake you for a 40-year-old than the 20 something that you really are? You surely don't want to take that route.

Everybody will develop wrinkles as they age. But while you are young and can still prevent it, do something about it. The abovementioned tips will hopefully do the trick for you.www.photofacialmachines.com
